Girl On Fire

Fall 2024

For our first theme, we selected “Girl on Fire” to honor the various ways women and creatives use the flame within them to impact the world. Inside everyone, there is a spark begging to be fueled whether by love, passion, rage, resilience, etc. Through the celebration of personal experiences and creative expressions, “Girl On Fire” serves to celebrate the women and creatives who dare to burn brightly against opposition and be bold in blazing new paths.

Issue Two

Still I Rise

Spring 2025

Named after the poem by renowned, transcendental poet, artist, and activist, Maya Angelou, “Still I Rise” aims to continue the messages of empowerment and rising against opposition that Angelou leaves in her legacy. As recent events continue to make life more challenging to be women, the hope of “Still I Rise” is to continue the call to action of resilience that Angelou immortalizes in her writing and to honor the tireless work of women. Most especially, this issue aims to recognize women of color who have always led the charge in standing up for women, but who all too often go without adequate recognition of their work.

Time's Spell

Fall 2025

In this issue, we journey through time to explore the stories of our community- honoring the legacies of the past, celebrating present voices, and imagining the possibilities of the future. Together, we reflect on how time shapes womanhood and gender expression, and how we continue to change, grow, empower, and hope. Inspired by powerful women like Stevie Nicks' whose song, "Silver Springs," births the name of this issue, we observe female stories and voices across time, the stories that make us, and we aim to celebrate the ways women and the queer community express identity and leave their legacies.
